Digital Assets

Digital assets are not limited to apps, e-books or on-line media content. A digital asset can include any type of material in electronic form.

Digital assets include software and databases.

The internet means you need to be more aware of your digital assets: how are they being used in different formats and what to do to protect them.

A number of issues may arise in relation to the management of digital assets, including:

  • copyright ownership
  • permissions or licenses
  • e-formats
  • contracts
  • security issues such as ‘bar-coding’
  • watermarking
  • access codes or other technological protection measures
  • asset management practices
  • intangible asset registers.

Intellectual Asset Management means fresh thinking about how to manage and protect digital assets.
