Networks

The networks of an organisation include the chains of contacts making up its customers, suppliers and other business partners.

The success of a business can be strongly influenced by the quality and commitment of its supplier and partner networks. Customers are not only potential sources of repeat business, but also of referrals of new business.

A good intellectual asset management program recognises and incorporates these networks. Often they can be efficiently maintained, managed and developed with the assistance of appropriate databases and software tools, such as relationship management systems.

Networks contribute to the organisation’s image and relationships.
